Brand new

Hello all!
It was great to meet all of you. I am brand new at this blog business but I feel really excited by all the brand new things God is bringing into my life. What was "out of the box" before Tuesday is definitely not out there now. I look forward to getting to know all of you better. It's risky to bring new ideas into the world. I always think that what I think is profound won't be new to anyone else. Can't believe that at 45, I'm still looking at the world with wide-eyed wonder but wouldn't have it any other way. Thanks for having me in the group, Alli.

I'm sure you have noticed, you definitely bring a unique perspective from a unique world. This group is and is going to be increasingly diverse and I am thankful that you are willing to add your voice to the mix. It is very valuable to us all!

Alli,

I for one am excited that you have new and interesting ideas to share. You might be surprised, too, how you might end up blessing others. One of the things I really enjoy about following Jesus is that one is never quite sure of what kind of surprise he or she may have in store through someone else. One of the best things that has happened to me since I have learned to think "outside the box" instead of being bound so much by the status quo is that God has special and unique ways of speaking to each of us as individuals, and as groups in ways that are fairly particular in nature. Sure, there may be some risk involved in terms of what may or may not be actual, but to be able to participate in a community that is established upon the grounds of openness and concern for others provides a protective barrier for all to benefit from. I already know that the alternative of misappropriated authority and unilateral thinking placed upon all in a universal way usually proves to be detrimental in the end. I would much rather take my chances with fresh and imaginative thinking that my faith as a follower of Jesus might be bolstered so that I might become more like him not only in the way I think (the mind of Christ) but to do more of the things he would have me to do. So, I am looking forward very much to future conversations and activities with this new gathering.

Chris.
